LKK Team succeeds before CAS

LKK partner Antonio Rigozzi and associate William McAuliffe represented FIFA in the CAS proceedings (CAS 2016/A/4579) brought in May 2016 by Mr. Gordon Derrick, General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association and President of the Caribbean Football Union.

On 2 May 2016, Mr. Derrick appealed against a decision rendered by the FIFA Audit and Compliance Committee on 12 April 2016, which had established that Mr. Derrick could not be admitted as a candidate for any position on the FIFA Council (i.e. as a FIFA Vice-President or as a member) in the elections that were due to be held in May 2016

On 3 February 2017, a three-member CAS Panel composed of Messrs Romano Subiotto, Nicolas Ulmer and José Maria Alonso Puig (presiding) unanimously dismissed Mr. Derrick’s appeal and upheld and fully confirmed the FIFA Audit and Compliance Committee’s decision.
