New publication

LKK is pleased to announce the publication of the second volume of the Yearbook of International Sports Arbitration (YISA), co-edited by Dr. Antoine Duval of the Asser Instituut in The Hague and LKK partner Antonio Rigozzi.

The YISA is the first academic publication aiming to offer comprehensive coverage, on a yearly basis, of the most salient developments regarding international sports arbitration, through a combination of articles and case notes.

The volume just published features an opening interview with the arbitrators who rendered the very first CAS award (in case TAS 86/1), Messrs François Carrard, Hans Nater and Jean Gay, as well as specialist papers on topics such as the applicability of Swiss law in CAS doping cases, the standing to appeal of third parties, the Russian doping scandal before the CAS, and the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal’s 2017 Rules. Also included in this YISA volume are in-depth case notes on several decisions rendered by the CAS and domestic courts in 2016, among which the WADA v. Bellchambers et al.Platini v. FIFA  and Galatasaray v. UEFA awards, the Pechstein v. ISU decision rendered by the Bundesgerichtshof in Germany, and a digest of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court’s jurisprudence.

The interview with arbitrators Carrard, Nater and Gay can be downloaded below.
