NEW PUBLICATION

LKK is delighted to announce the publication of the inaugural volume of the Yearbook of International Sports Arbitration (YISA), co-edited by Dr. Antoine Duval of the Asser Instituut in The Hague and LKK partner Antonio Rigozzi.

The YISA is the first academic publication aiming to offer comprehensive coverage, on a yearly basis, of the most salient developments regarding international sports arbitration, through a combination of articles and case notes.

The volume just published (YISA 2015) features an opening article on the CAS’s usefulness and legitimacy by Prof. Jan Paulsson, as well as specialist papers on topics such as the influence of the common law traditions on the practice and procedure of the CAS, the validity of analytical science in anti-doping, sell-on clauses in football, interim relief in sports arbitration, and the practice, procedure and case law of the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal. Also included in YISA’s inaugural volume are in-depth case notes on several decisions rendered by the CAS and domestic courts in 2015, among which the Dutee Chand and Vanessa Vanakorn awards, several football-related CAS awards, the Pechstein and Wilhelmshaven decisions rendered by the OLG München and OLG Bremen in Germany, and a digest of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court’s jurisprudence.
