LKK Sports arbitration team secures significant anti-doping ruling

LKK Lawyers Antonio Rigozzi, Brianna Quinn and  Charlotte Frey successfully represented the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in an appeal filed by Mr. André Cardoso against a decision rendered by the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal.

In the recently published CAS decision, available here, the CAS Panel ruled that an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) can be established on the basis of reliable analytical evidence from an A Sample alone – so long as there is a satisfactory explanation for the lack of confirmation in the athlete’s B Sample.

The award also contains interesting developments on both jurisdictional and procedural matters.
