LKK promotes

Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler is pleased to announce the promotion of Michele Potestà to Partner, as of 1st March 2021.

 

Michele joined LKK in 2013, and was promoted to Counsel in 2018. He has acted as arbitrator, counsel and tribunal secretary in over 35 international investment and commercial arbitrations, and has been ranked as a Rising Star in Commercial Arbitration by the Expert Guides, and as one of the most highly regarded individuals of the under-45 generation in several consecutive editions of Who’s Who Legal Arbitration – Future Leaders (2017, 2018, 2019). In 2020, WWL Arbitration named him as the most highly regarded Future Leader in Europe in the non-partners category.

 

Michele’s areas of expertise include energy and natural resources, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, international sales, banking and finance, shareholders disputes, real estate and construction, aviation, IT- and sports-related commercial disputes. He has particular experience in disputes involving states and state entities, and currently advises Switzerland in multilateral negotiations on the reform of investor-state dispute settlement.

 

Michele is also part of the Faculty at the University of Geneva’s Master of International Dispute Settlement (MIDS), and a senior researcher at the Geneva Centre for International Dispute Settlement (CIDS).

 

He speaks English, Italian, French, German and Spanish.
